I love seeing all the little different in this trailer and game
Still far ahead of its time and looks solid today.
Anyone still wondering go play Forged Alliance Forever, because the game is still being played and has things like random map generation for different biomes.
Might I suggest Zero K. Its rooted in TA but after many branches and 17 years of love and care into what is basically a new game. Also its on Steam, free, ran though volunteers and donations only. Its a much better branch than BAR.

If only they added a better squad system so that you dont go insane when micro a bunch of units..
Did you know you can group any units to squad using I believe shift 1, shift 2 and so on?
@@TheHmongWarrior yeah I know. It's default for many games. But the problem comes after this. You might want maybe 5-8 squads and past 4 it's really easy to forget as there is no UI symbol or anything. Also making new squads in the same way without UI might start to mess up with you in a long game like 30+ minutes long as you will constantly be doing that. I would have loved a UI icon and maybe the ability to reinforce squad from squad UI instead of manually clicking units in a factory. Also on a global scale, would have been cool that it just showed a single icon with a number of units instead of a million unit icons. I'm basically stealing ideas of some other games but this seems to be a very good idea for a mod
@@Slider93there is so many ways to move units, group units in this game I haven’t seen any other rts that matches this game’s abilities to control units. It’s a matter of organizing group 1 to 9 with specialty units and any other units just use the mouse. Double click on one unit selects all unit on screen, you can even select all unit of the same type too but I forgot the key for that.
@@TheHmongWarrior I know that, but at some point it becomes quite messy. I remember American Conquest which is ancient at this point, but it had the system to merge individual units into squads, so when you click any member of the squad, you auto-click the entirety of the squad. It is just a way more comfortable system rather then "select all on screen" or "make squad with shift+1". And you could actually resupply the squad if some units were lost. That's what I mean. It was comfortable as heck
@@Slider93to merge as squad you select that custom group of units and then shift 1. There you have it, your specialty unit. Resupply squad? Wait for 2025 Supreme Commander 😂

They need to make this one backwards compatible like seriously they made the 2nd one backwards compatible but that one isn't as good as this one the units are small asf in the 2nd one at least this one you can see them

Maybe in 30 years there will be a game that can come close to matching this masterpiece of an RTS. It is so good it set the bar up tooooo high!!! We miss you Gas Powered Games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look up "Sanctuary: Shattered Sun".
At the time we all thought this would be the natural evolution of RTS games and they would only get bigger and more impressive
Instead we got small squads to use as in Starcraft which is even in Starcraft 2 only 200 units. 200 units you have within 30min if not less in Sub Com granted buildings also count but defences in Sub Com and TA can get veterancy
And no RTS came after to match this
Why this fantastic game not popular in that time? It should be hot like age of empires today. How can such good game be forgotten.
If they ever make supreme commander 3 i hope it gets a conquest mode
You don't need top tier graphics it just needs to look good enough to play.

@@TheHmongWarrior Sanctuary: Shattered Sun, a fan project to kinda redo SupCom. It looks really nice so far, but will prob still take forever to launch
Waiting for FromSoft to remaster this game. Or do a Supreme Commander / Armored Core fusion game. Seriously this game is too good to leave in the past.

игра класс! жаль коннект херовый! хотелось бы что бы какая-нибудь контора выкупила франшизу и докрутила нормальную сетевую игру, но при этом что бы и faf остался как альтернатива, а то все в донаты уйдет

I would love SupCom 3 like this to come out. SupCom 2 was a bit failure. I liked SupCom 2 but it wasn't even half as good as SupCom, SupCom: Forged Alliance, and Forged Alliance Forever. I am waiting for Sanctuary: Shattered Sun, but I like SupCom storyline better than this goofy Dyson sphere stuff.
I blame the resource system and units. It was so boring. You can do total A with 1K units from command.
the year is 2023, and I'm still looking for a game that can bring it as well as this and it's add-on Forged Alliance

It's funny just how huge of a scale this battle seems for anyone who doesn't play the game. You have to add the caveat when showing this trailer to friends this is a small skirmish compared to the real thing
